The Show Has Moved To Thredbo
'Wanderlust' - a strong desire to travel and explore. Indeed - many have travelled to the Thredbo Wanderlust for a four day exploration into mind and body.
I will admit I had no idea what was to follow. Many stalls have gone up around the village and many of the special ticket-only sessions are already sold out.
Last night, in the Village Square, there was an official opening of Wanderlust. It was far more than I could have ever expected. It was as though Circus Oz or Cirque du Soleil had landed in Thredbo. There was music - both indigenous and atmospheric, yoga-acrobatics, hula-hooping, comedy, pole acrobatics, fire eating and more. A truly entertaining evening.
I deliberately did not use my flash when taking night photos so as to not put the performers off their game. The effect of low light has had some fascinating effects on my photos.
Yesterday, whilst riding Kosi Chair, I spotted Eric the Echidna on his way to Wanderlust
But I didn't see him getting into the swing in the Village Square
Wanderlust opening MC was a Frankenstein-like professor, ably assisted by Igor, turning his creature into a yogi
An evening of fun, skill, strength, colour and sound
Pole dancing on a serious level
Yoga as an acrobatic form
Strength and balance
Spinning colour
Igor in his alter ego going up in fire
The opening ceremony culminated in fire
What will the next 3 days bring? I can't wait to find out.
