Charlotte's Web
Several weeks ago Jax, Waz & Team Traktor took advantage of the special one day local's deal to visit Charlotte Pass ski resort.
They had great snow, strong winds and I suspect little of the view. Yesterday team Chook, Gary, Alison, Marion and moi did the same thing but instead we had soft, slightly sun affected snow and brilliant blue sky with a cooling breeze.
I have never skied the lifts at Charlottes before and have never seen the views of so much snow on the main range from there before either. I can appreciate the fun Jax's crew had tree skiing in fresh snow and below I can now show them the views of the main range and more.
The package deal included over snow transport from Perisher, lift pass for the day and lunch. Because the weather was so spectacular we were treated to an outdoor BBQ in front of the Chalet. Special thanks to Janelle & Matt from Jindy for allowing us to share their table. The whole day cost little more than lunch would have. We certainly intend doing it again next year.
With the friendly staff, family oriented crowds and slower pace, the resort had, in my opinion, a similar feel to Falls Creek although on a somewhat smaller scale. I'll let the photos do the talking from here. I took many, many more than displayed but there's only so much space on this page.

Today, Wednesday, like last Wednesday, is another blow-down day. Winds in excess of 100kph have closed all but Merritts chair, East Rider T-bar and Friday Flat. There are some brave predictions of big snows again before this weekend. 4 weeks in a row. Is it possible? I can't wait ;-)
Happy Birthday Sally.
