The Just-In-Time Long Weekend Report

I have had my phone reconnected. For how long is anyone’s guess. More about that below. I have been requested to put out a positive report. Thanks to Marion, I have some ADSL access so here goes.

A lot of snow has been made over the past week and a half. Cold clear nights and little wind have enabled KT to really show what their investment in snowmaking is truly capable of.

Teething troubles on Saturday morning meant Cruiser did not start at its scheduled time on the first day of the season. The up side to this story was the premature opening of High Noon and Gunbarrel chair. From grass a week before, I skied High Noon from top to bottom on Saturday afternoon and it has improved each day with more man made snow. Sure, it’s firm in places. That is deliberate. The base should last for another 4 months ;-) Certainly the longest snow run in Australia at this time.

Merritts has quite a good cover considering it is manmade and we are still in June. Today I skied down High Noon to the rear entrance of Gunbarrel. How good is that?

My phone was reconnected last Thursday after a technician turned up (I think only thanks to the rapid response to my email to the Telecommunications Ombudsman’s office). On Friday another technician turned up to connect another 2 lines, neither number being mine. How many technicians are there in Jindabyne? Why is there no communication within a communication company? Since then I have had two phone calls from Telstra Customer Service (another oxymoron) asking if my phone has been connected. What if it hadn’t?

My next report will expose the truth about Telstra, if my medication holds out that long.

Oh yes, I'm still awaiting my own ADSL to be reconnected to my relocated phone number. Thanks Telstra.
