A Fine Weekend
A fine weekend it was and as a result a huge turnout of more than 500 protestors where on hand in Jindabyne to protest over the proposed sale of Snowy Hydro. Amongst the crowd I spotted people from local areas as well as Sydney and Canberra. The next protest meeting is on Sunday June 4th in Cooma’s Centennial Park starting at 11:30am. This meeting is a forerunner for the meeting in Sydney on June 6th at the Archibald fountain in Hyde Park.
Not much of anything happened in Thredbo over the weekend but Louise’s 21st birthday party at Horizons in Jindabyne was a hoot. A surprising number of dark suits and ties turned up to see Louise and all the other beautiful women and to listen to Andy O’Donnell and Mark Travis do their thing.
The Kosciuszko Express chairlift has come out of its maintenance phase and is open again. Snow making will begin as soon as the weather conditions permit.

The forecast is for a little snow later this week. Less than two weeks to the opening weekend, the music, the fireworks and hopefully a few turns on the white stuff.
