Revelstoke Revealed

Up until now I had not publicly broadcast where I have been spending the past 4 weeks but considering the state of affairs here there appears no reason for me to keep the secret any longer.

Locals and visitors alike confirm that the ratio of boarders to skiers is somewhere between 2 to 1 and 3 to1. The average age up until this week appears to be around 25-30. During the last couple of days it has been 10 years older.

A massive 2cms of fresh snow overnight sent everyone into a powder frenzy this morning until the heavy fog turned the white stuff into sticky glue. The runs below the Stoke chair are falling apart rapidly and all runs below gondola mid station have been closed off - as have upper car parks. Some other lower runs above mid station are also closed due to lack of snow and many more are likely to follow shortly.

I'll be out of here shortly and back to a cool and damp Thredbo.

Speaking of Janece, we have named a new geographical feature sometimes encountered when skiing after her. That small stubby stick (root or branch) that pokes out 2cm to 5cm from the hard pack that causes grief when hit is now called a Janece after she managed a rather spectacular slide after hitting a 'Janece' near the top of the mountain. Every night it would be covered by the groomers only to raise it's ugly head again the next day.
