Looks Like Rain

I left Revelstoke with a bad back. Don’t know how or why but about 2 hours before departing on the long journey of Greyhound bus, internal flight followed by international flight (all in Cattle-Class) my lumbar discs decided to rearrange themselves making for a somewhat uncomfortable trip and no chance to fix it until back in OZ. Many have stated that my age is catching up with me whereas I think I am catching up with my age. Pass the ibuprofen please.

Revelstoke was in poor shape when I left. Everything below mid station closed and the few remaining open runs below Stoke chair to mid station were in such bad condition (thin cover with rocks, stumps and grass coming through) that they would have been closed if in Thredbo.

By contrast, the Monaro is in wonderful condition. Everything is green and dams are full. In some paddocks only the tops of the backs of the sheep could be seen in the tall grass. Thredbo too, is lush and cool.

Back to the chiro (no pun intended) for another treatment tomorrow. No mountain walks until this is resolved.

Grump: Things you see when you can’t get to your camera in time! And bad backs of course.

The two highlights of my trip to Canada that are both without photographic evidence (Don’t you just hate that?) are:-

On my first day in Canada I saw a large grey wolf run across 4 lanes of the trans Canada highway just east of Kamloops in broad daylight. Then on my last day at Kelowna airport I saw a slick, black Mercedes coupe drive by with those non-pneumatic tyres (those ones without sidewalls) - a very cool drive.

The other highlight of my trip (photos withheld) was being in a bar/restaurant in British Columbia on the Sunday afternoon when Canada won the Olympic men’s ice hockey gold medal - quite a buzz.

PS: Nice to be back to my own computer :-)

Late Update:

You will have no doubt been unable to avoid the big news story tonight about the Weather Bureau and CSIRO coming out saying Global Warming is real and humans are responsible for it.

It worries me that supposedly knowledgable and intelligent people can be so ignorant. Why I can't figure - only time will tell - unless it's because they are both funded by government?

Amongst the statements made today was "CO2 levels have not been this high for 20 million years"

Well Hello!!! How many humans were causing a CO2 problem 20 million years ago?

Hello!!! Why are humans responsible for the current CO2 levels if they weren't responsible for it 20 million years ago?

Hello!!! If humans are responsible why do the major political parties of Australia want to double our population?

Hello!!! You are being conned BIG TIME !!!

Wake up Australia. This is all about taxing you for breathing and all that tax will do is stop you breathing!

Hitler said "The bigger the lie the more they will believe you"

Do you believe taxing humans for CO2 output will change the climate?

Still believe the big lie? Do a Google on: co2 levels 20 million years ago
