Fresh Snow, Sunshine & Weekend Crowds
Peter reports from Rusutsu a fresh 40cms and a blue bird day. To escape the weekend crowds on the Rusutsu slopes, Peter and Andrea went outback in their own private resort and took turns to be liftee.
Andrea at the controls heading into the private ski resort
Peter at the top of the world
A fish eye view of the valley below
Andrea's turn to ride, Peter will drive
Hope the brakes hold
It's a steep park - even steeper from this side
And at the bottom of every untracked slope is your waiting lift
In the private resort you only ride with your shadow
Another session exhausted
How much sun and fresh snow can a body take?
Coming up next are more photos from the 1980's in Thredbo. Get your onesie and fluoros ready.
Grump for the day:
Billions upon billions of extra money to be spent on defence? Supposedly to protect us from the very same people that the federal government is allowing to buy our homes and farms from under us? And at a time when the federal government keeps telling us there must be an increase in tax because they're short of dollars. What a load of {insert your own word(s) here}!
Are they serious or could it just be another diversion from the up-coming early election and the imminent increase in GST. Just like John Howard and the "never ever" promise about introducing GST, once Malcolm Turnbull is re-elected the new government will echo Howard's words and say "we have a mandate" and up will go the GST.
Will the Australian public in "the clever country" be so stupid as to allow history to repeat itself again? Yes, I'm afraid they will.
Happy Leap Year!
