In stark contrast to mid week following Tuesday's snow fall, the Bank Holiday weekend saw many thousands of skiers and boarders in the resort for the warm and sunny weather. Lift lines were up but not unbearable.
Snow conditions within the resort have remained good although the odd rock has started to rear its ugly head. Cold temps prior to Saturday have prevented the snow from packing down too much. The off piste and bumps were still enjoyable and even after Saturday night's freeze the stiff breeze on Sunday started depositing a fresh layer of wind blown snow in all those secret places where the wind drifts build.
Even so, many retreated from the resort and crowds onto the main range. The main range snow was variable. Deep and dry in places where the sun had not touched it and somewhat heavier where it had.

The sad part about the weekend was the attitude of many of the 'weekend warriors'. I say 'warriors' because it appears much of the Sydney 'road rage' was brought to the slopes. As a consequence ski patrol had their work cut out for them carting bodies off the slopes and trying to keep unthinking snow riders from injuring others. The worst incident I heard of was of a full-scale fight that took place under Cruiser chair on Saturday. Shame - we don't need or want that sort of thing in Thredbo.
