Winter At Last
I didn't miss anything in Thredbo by going to Sydney for 3 days. Arrived back last night around 5pm to see the terrible state the slopes had gotten into and then driving rain. This of course explained why all of the Uni Week combatants were in the bars last night.
Before midnight the rain turned to snow in the village and started repairing the damage. By morning it was reported that there was 30cm of new up top and 10cm in the village. The winds were howling, the wind chill was very low and most lifts were on wind and visibility hold.
A long ride up Snowgums chair led to deep stashes but mostly wind packed dry snow with occasional ice sheets. World Cup was good for the first run.
The lift lines were shockers with all T-bars closed, Cruiser, Ramshead and Kozi Express all on hold. After an hour or more Kozi Express was opened allowing us access to lots more freshies.

I had the good boards out today and didn't hit anything nasty but I was very careful down low and didn't follow the many others into Lovers Leap Bypass or the other alternate routes back to the bottom.
Much more snow is forecast. At the very least we will have snow on World Cup for the Austrian Masters on Saturday.
