Sunshine Without Crowds
Under pressure from Marion's visiting family - here's a quickie report - not that I thought you would mind ;-)
Following another snowy Saturday we have just had two spectacular blue-sky days with a cold dry base and no wind. The snow guns have been working overtime the past two nights whilst the full moon shone over the resort (note to self - get a photo ;-).
I struck only two queues of any consequence in 5 hours on the hill yesterday otherwise it was pretty much ski on - ski off from Cruiser to Karels.
Kareela Hutte looking more like a Niseko Pension last Saturday
and much of this snow remains today :-)
Close ups
Then the sun came out on Sunday as the freeze glistened on the trees
Imogen and Greg yesterday (all the way from Tassie)
Then today we all went out back - Imogen & Marion
Imogen & Greg
Greg working the Pocketo Rocketos
Then we came across our favourite locals
Bogong Creek - beautiful but deadly
The steep slippery banks make it so hard to get out of, if you ski too close
The very popular toboggan slope at the tennis courts has been one the best moves KT has made in ages
Have you worked out who's related to Marion yet? No, it's not hard ;-)
The omens look right for another snowy mid week with a possible 50+cm falling over the next 4 days.
It really is awesome in Thredbo - so many surprise groomed runs - so much snow and so few people.
