Sun And Snow

Cold, clear nights have meant good snow making on the lower slopes. The worst snow I could find was on the bottom of Sundowner but even then it was open, ski-able and I didn't hit any rocks. One more night of snow making will probably turn it around. The bottom of the Milk Run is now in good condition thanks to a tonne of snow making and pushing.

All lifts, except Sponars T-bar, are open, which means you can escape the crowds, well, up until next weekend schools holidays really kick in. I saw the cats working on the upper section of Sponars today. I assume trying to push in enough snow into the two dips on the T-bar line. There are still no Ts on the boxes but I'm sure that will change soon.

Wouldn't it be amazing if all lifts were operational before the start of July?

The weather has been spectacular for being on the mountain - sunny with very little breeze. Of course this doesn't do a lot for the snow pack but it does seem that the off piste is getting more stable and hence ski-able.

I skied all over this morning and conditions are amazing for June. The bridge over Merritts Creek near the bottom of Sponars has been fully repaired and Cat Walk is in fine condition and even wider in some places.

Forecasts are varied and your guess is as good as mine. My guess is that there may be some pre snowfall precipitation late on Sunday into Monday before fresh snow Tuesday - Wednesday.
