The Climate Is Changing
It is getting colder. Winter is approaching and the frosts are getting heavier. No, there isn't really any snow around but when it comes it will fall on cold ground.
On a recent trip to Tathra I was surprised to see the effects of the March floods. A couple of years ago the mouth of the Bega River was closed to the ocean. With some help, a shallow tidal passage was opened and I enjoyed a swim back in January on the protected river side of the extensive sand dunes that had sealed the river mouth for such a long time.
The floods this year swept away the entire sand dune system leaving a wide and deep opening where the river mouth meets the sea. It is just amazing to see what Mother Nature can do.
Meanwhile in the mountains the trees are turning and work rushes onward to prepare for the forthcoming winter. Only 6 weeks to the start of the ski season and snow making is expected to start soon so we know we can ski on the June long weekend regardless of the natural snow levels.
Acacia sent me the two photos below showing the new bridge at Dead Horse Gap while she and Peter were out looking for more K7Adventures.

I believe Kosi chair closes for maintenance after this Sunday and will reopen May 28th. Snowgums chair will provide access to the upper mountain for foot passengers.
