News From The Chook Shed

Apart from those starring in previous reports, there are many other Thredbo-ites in the same land of miso-powder. Ray & Lynne have also been enjoying the delights of Nippon amongst others, not to mention Davo, Jo and family.

So this report is dedicated to the Chooks - yes the same Chooks whose name was given to The Chook Run several years ago.

Plan 'B' in the sunshine, I presume
Plan 'B' in the sunshine, I presume

There has been a lot of rain in Thredbo (torrential at times) and winds have been above 100kph on more than one day. We are about to exceed 200mm of rain for February and it's only the 5th of Feb. It's still raining as I type but at least the temp has dropped somewhat. Mind you, if the temp had dropped sub zero we too would have 2metres of snow ;-)

As you can imagine the Thredbo River is running high but I haven't seen it burst its banks yet. There's a cold front coming tomorrow and sunshine is forecast from Monday :-)

My thoughts go out to all those (about 50% of Australia) who have fallen victim to the floods and cyclones. There can't be much of Queensland that hasn't been slammed in the past weeks and Victoria is having more floods again today. Meanwhile many others are being baked in extremely high temperatures. Nothing much in the way of mild weather in this country - more a case of wild weather.

If I were to have a grump, it would have to be about what sort of low life would steal a car in Thredbo, or anywhere else for that matter. Just goes to show how deep the gene pool has sunk into the sludge.

More when I receive it.
