A Sunday Constitutional

One week after the season’s first snow fall and bathed in glorious sunshine there is a surprisingly good base on the upper mountain areas where temperatures have rarely risen above zero.

With the resort not yet open for skiing and boarding, we took a leisurely stroll out along the Kosciuszko Walking Path to the Kozi lookout where turned left and climbed towards Nth Ramshead.

Although there is still a lot of rock showing, most of the creeks are covered and there is a wonderfully firm base to be found in most areas.

Our reconnaissance today has convinced us that any future snows will be falling on a sound base.

Although only out for a couple of hours we found this was enough to get the muscles flexing and to shake out the cobwebs of the past few months. My feet are telling me that the season has begun and I’m glad that there is no pressure to go hard all day while my body re-adjusts.

So how was your weekend?
