It’s On
It snowed Thursday night and right through Friday with snow eventually settling in the village by Saturday morning. The change to cold temps (as low as –5.5C) meant that the snow makers have had a good time and a base is being built.
Marion and I went out back on Saturday to check out the conditions. The creeks are filling in and the shrubberies are being pressed into submission. The cover is only thin but we had enough fun to go back on Sunday with Ray and Lynne to check out the other side of the Kosi path. We encountered groups of other desperates out there including skiers and boarders.
My feet are feeling better than yesterday and Ray’s new knee has had a good work out as we negotiated the boulders back down from the high plateau behind Signature Hill. Consecutive lunches at Eagles Nest found a good-sized crowd both days enjoying the high alpine and running Laura off her feet with the surprisingly good turnout.

Pieces of the weekend
Rumour has it that Merritts will be open Monday. There’s no looking back now.
There is another cold front coming later in the week and the forecasters are predicting a week of snowfalls following that.
Toni has been operated on and hopefully will be back in the village soon – albeit in his new cast.
