21st Celebrations

The 21st Yalumba Thredbo Jazz Festival was a truly wonderful 3-day event. Fantastic talent from ranging from the high school kids to the octogenarian Errol Buddle making his last appearance at Thredbo. We will miss you Errol. We had international stars mixed with locals.

No doubt everyone looks forward to the return of Leroy Jones in two years time. There was every form of Jazz played somewhere in the village at some time or other. The highlight for me was the Bogalusa Strutters who ripped the Schuss Bar last night.

Well done all.

The weather remains cold. The Kosi chair open for the Jazz Fest is again closed for further maintenance. I did not take advantage of the small window of opportunity to go for a ski on the weekend – c’est la vie.

After a two-year absence I have again produced a report on my latest overseas ski trip. Not a lot of words but if 'a picture is worth a thousand words' then it may be another epic. Anyway, click this link (http://www.ciau.com.au/snow/jpn2008/japan08a.htm) to see bits of Mr Grumpy’s 2008 sojourn.
