First Ski
On the last day of April, Marion and I decided a ski was in order. The snow was soft and quite sticky. I should have waxed up.
Yesterday (May 1st) the weather warmed and the snow started to rapidly melt.
Ray, Lynne and I did a reconnaissance out behind Eagles Nest today and we may just have a little ski tomorrow while Kozi chair is open for Jazz.

Conditions were soft, sticky and thin

First tracks for season 2008 - tres technical

Marion dodging trees and grass

Looks more like spring than Autumn

It was all good for a laugh

Summer Drift today

The trail to Kozi - strong, strong wind prevented me going much further

Alas, Signature Hill could still do with a little more white
The 21st Thredbo Jazz Festival starts tonight - more about this after the weekend.
After a two-year absence I have again produced a report on my latest overseas ski trip. Not a lot of words but if 'a picture is worth a thousand words' then it may be another epic. Anyway, click this link (http://www.ciau.com.au/snow/jpn2008/japan08a.htm) to see bits of Mr Grumpy’s 2008 sojourn.
