January Comes Early

A walk on the main range looks like late January rather than late November. The last of the snow is almost gone, the streams are slowing, the frogs appear to have already disappeared, there are a few flowers around but otherwise it is getting hot and dry. The only clues that we are still in spring are the lack of March flies, the size of the baby grasshoppers and the fact that Kosi chair is still undergoing maintenance.

At noon on Saturday an on-site auction of Snowgoose Lodge brought most of the village out for a "look". A sausage sizzle and cold beer would have turned the event into a major entertainment scene.

Despite having to climb up from Snowgums chair to get to the start of the walking track to Kosi, there were a lot of people out on the main range.

Don’t forget to do your bit to return Kosciuszko Park entry fees back to something reasonable? Click here. Annual passes are now $190 - well and truly more than double last year's fee of $88.
