Memorial Race Day
Following from Monday’s top-up of snow we have had clear days and nights - bright sunshine followed by bright moonlight. The snow guns have been going most nights and there is no one on the mountain. There have been no problems with the wind unlike much of the season. The temperatures are on the rise gradually and we are getting into a more spring-like pattern of hard packed snow softening during the day under the relentless sunshine.
The best snow was up high around Karels and Sponars but the lower slopes are holding up well and still have a good cover where there is man-made snow.
Today was the running of the Thredbo Memorial Race with two cups on offer for the individual and team-of-two who have the most consistent times over two runs of the same GS course. It is not about speed but it is certainly about fun. The theme was 1980’s and both the clothing and some ski equipment was at least that old if not even older in some cases.
Thanks to Maureen and Kimbo for great organising of the event.

The forecast is for continuing sunshine until a cold front on Tuesday, which should bring some more snow.
