The Base Is Building
Tuesday looked too wet and windy to entice me out but Wednesday was a different story altogether - a brilliant sunny day and more fresh snow. World Cup had 15cms of fresh on it while the Supertrail was groomed. Skiing and boarding were still restricted to Merritts area and the top of the Supertrail (accessed by SnowGums Chair) but there were very few out to cramp your style.
This morning there was heavy snow falling. 25cms had fallen overnight up top and 15cms in the village. It was not light snow but creamy up high and sticky at village level. Gunbarrel was very slow getting started and I had left the mountain before Antons T-bar had started.
We were on about the sixth chair out of Friday Flat with a long queue behind us. I got freshies down the side of High Noon and I did get some boot deep turns close to Antons.

More snow is due before a sunny weekend. Hopefully either the snow guns of Mother Nature will provide enough snow to get Crackenback top to bottom. Currently there is loading at Lover’s Leap station on Snow Gums.
