First Signs

Thredbo was graced with great weekend weather once again with only a slight breeze and warm sunny days under clear blue skies.

There are however some signs of the weather turning towards a winter pattern. The frosts and morning fogs are increasing and today as I write this report the upper mountain is shrouded in low cloud.

I took advantage of the weather on both days with walks around the resort. Soon the frosty steps and muddy tracks will make climbing the mountain both dangerous and uncomfortable.

I was fortunate enough to be given a personal tour by Sonja of the nearly complete renovations at Merritts. Very impressive layout with more seating and much improved toilet facilities, which are now accessed along an easy graded, covered metal walkway outside the building.
