Rusutsu Close
Well, I've possibly received my last report (and photos) from Peter and Andrea in Rusutsu. The snow season has now officially closed and there's not much left "unofficially" speaking.
The thaw is well underway
Sort of looks a bit like the bottom of South Ramshead
Avalanches are closing the trails
The animals are out and about
I've never seen a Japanese Raccoon before
Indeed all sorts of animals are out
That's a lot of firewood Peter has stacked
And a huge weird timber fungus - like a giant petrified snail
The last snow flakes are actually ice crystals and plentiful they are
A close up of an ice crystal and a distance shot of a blurry fox
The slopes were well set for the last day of the season
Just like The Basin on the last day of the season
(note to self - clean glasses;-)
This just may be the last photo from Peter in Rusutsu
Meanwhile in Thredbo, we have had 40mm of rain and high winds. The temp up top has dropped to zero and the forecast is for some snow overnight.
One season ends and another is about to start.
