Something Special For The End Of March
Peter sent me a late email last night from Japan. He and Andrea have been busily cleaning up after another winter in Japan and then their plans were thrown into disarray.
They had been painting and emptied the shed in the nice sunny warm weather and then it dumped overnight leaving 40 cm up top and 20cm on the fresh paint.
Peter reports that they had an epic last day of March but it was a race against time as the sun now rises at 5 am and they wanted to get in as many laps as possible. In the trees it stayed OK till 1.00pm then that turned to slop, but what a day.
A beautiful morning dawns with an unexpected fresh layer of snow
So unexpeced that the toys had been left outside
The clean-up for Summer was thrown into chaos
The skim pool froze over but now there were more important things to do ;-)
Awesome powder under blue skies
No one around - just clear skies and light powder
Another fantastic morning in Rusutsu
And when the snow went off around 1pm, you dust off the toys and get out and about
Springtime means barbeques in the snow
When will it end?
The BOM's prediction of snow above 1900m in Thredbo last Thursday didn't happen - not surprising considering the plus temperatures but now they are predicting possible snow for Monday. The temperatures look right but I don't see it happening, however, stranger things have happened in early April.
It's a beautiful blue-sky day in Thredders today.
