Last Day of October
It has been quite hot (in relative terms) in Thredbo over the past days, following yet another wet period, but finally the temp dropped sub zero around midnight last night and is now -6C with a wind chill of -12C. Speaking of wind - it has been incredibly windy in the village the past 48 hours. Up top it reached 102kph around midday yesterday. It was so windy at times that I thought my bedroom windows would be blown out.
The day after my last report

Crackenback in a strange light this morning
Closer view of The Bluff this morning
And the main reason I have posted this report
I've watched the snowline retreat rapidly up the hill under the influence of the big hair dryer effect. The forecast for tomorrow is for more snow. Why not? Tomorrow marks the start of November. I doubt however, that tomorrow's Melbourne Cup will be run in snow shoes ;-)
