Carnival Week
Yesterday the clouds rolled back in but nothing of any consequence fell from them. If anything the cloud cover helped prevent the spring sun from over-softening the snow, leaving it soft but not deep or sloppy in the afternoon.
Today was Ski Patrol Race day, one of several events held during Carnival Week. The clouds again rolled back up the valley from the southwest without very little precipitation.
There was a good turn out of locals and staff at the race and luckily (on may be by design) the race course was not its usual concrete texture as our knees and ankles had to deal with jumps as well as the gates.
Most entrants got beyond the qualifying run and got a go at the dual part of the dual slalom course, which was sudden death for whomever crossed the line second.
It all made for a fun few hours whilst helping raise funds for the ski patrol.

What we really came for great BBQ sangas and beer
The crowd at the finish line watching the finals
The pointy end of the heats serious stuff
The forecast is for possibly a little snow tonight and more on Friday. At the moment it looks way too warm to happen. The warm temps over the past few days had taken their toll on the snow base but generally conditions are great and still top-to-bottom on the Supertrail and High Noon.
