Will It Happen Again? Could It Happen Again?

I awoke this morning to rain drops on my roof top and didn't rush out of bed. I really enjoyed yesterday and the day before skiing on typical Spring snow that wasn't slow or sticky on piste.

The groomers had done a wonderful job (yes, credit where credit is due) to keep Supertrail open, especially around Ski-in Ski-out corner. The Basin, Sponars and Antons are in good shape. Well, they were up until last night. I haven't ventured out today to see what's left. Nor have I ventured over to Merritts since Gunbarrel was closed and beginners and tobogganers have been uploading on Merritts chair. The off piste out of resort had also been nice once allowed to soften a bit but navigating the shrubberies is becoming an ordeal.

It rained this morning but nothing much has registered on the precipitation gauge since it spiked yesterday between 8:30am and 9:00am saying there had been 258mm of precip. Yes, something had gone wrong there!

The forecasters still seem to think there will be a little snow over the next week. Place great emphasis on 'little'.

For those who haven't been keeping up; Gunbarrel is closed as is all of Friday Flat. If the Supertrail closes there will great difficulty in getting to and from Antons and Sponars so they may be closed before they run out of cover. This will leave no way to get from Merritts to The Basin but download on Merritts chair then upload on Kosi.

Will we see it through to the end of the October long weekend? The Basin should last out but then we just may see a 9th start to the season before its demise ;-)

Will KT open Kosi mid station? It would solve a lot of problems if the Supertrail bows out at the bottom.
