Going out with a bang
The weekend was relatively quiet. Small numbers on the slopes and pretty good weather made for good skiing & boarding in the morning. By midday the snow pack was generally getting very soft and sticky. Some areas shaded by trees didn’t soften as much – namely Little Beauty and True Blue that were closed below the Meadows mid station exit.
Saturday night we had a spectacular fireworks display culminating in the supposed largest ever firecracker to be set-off in the southern hemisphere – a truly awesome sight and not without quite a BANG in the process.
Sunday morning was a little firmer than Saturday and made for a several fast carving runs top to bottom. There won’t be much more of that this year.
Last night was Andy O’Donnell’s last night for Winter 2004 in the Denman’s Apres Bar. Aided by Mark Travers and Brenda, it was a really good evening attended mostly by locals. Last weekend saw the end of season Keller part and that pretty well wraps up the village nightlife for Winter 2004 save for the few remaining staff parties.

It drizzled lightly last night and the winds rose to close to 100kph. We still have top to bottom skiing & boarding on the Supertrail and High Noon. Sundowner is closed. Today it is mild and overcast.
