Snow Base Update
The snow cover is hanging in there. Snowmaking has again freshened up the lower slopes keeping Friday Flat, High Noon, Sundowner and the SuperTrail in good condition, although the new snow was a little sticky under ski.
Yesterday saw the annual fund-raising Ski Patrol Race held in the Basin with a good turn out of competitors. A lot of fun was had by all.
Ice formations on rocks at the top of Karels T-bar (yesterday)
Dual Slalom - Ski Patroller Race Course in the Basin yesterday
Ski Patrol calculating who proceeds after the two qualifying runs
Friday Flat still accessible from High Noon and Sundowner
The steep section of High Noon (skiers’ left is closed after the snow was pushed to the right)
Bottom of Antons T-bar (like Sponars) is in great shape
Carnival Week is in full swing. Last night’s Cross-Dressing party in the Keller was more a treat for some of the boys, although some of the girls did put in an effort. Tonight is Body Painting and the Greasy Pole is on Saturday (postponed from Monday when it was just too cold).
Interschool Finals are on this weekend and the village will be packed. Luckily it looks as though fine weather will prevail till after the races.
