Back Again

This week presented skiers and boarders with very nice conditions (sunshine and blue skies and lots of wind blown snow) up until Thursday, With Thursday came the gale force winds closing most lifts. Once again we saw only Friday Flat area, Gunbarrel, Merrits and Easy Rider T-bar open.

Today it was the same recipe with Gunbarrel closed as well. However the snows are falling again and covering the rooftops.

As for myself, my back has packed it in and apart from 2 hours on the slopes on Tuesday I’ve been forced to rely on others to provide the fine detail about the snow conditions. Basically it has been drifts of soft dry wind blown with thick white concrete in between the drifts.

Will tomorrow’s Top To Bottom race be a repeat of last year's which was held in deep fresh powder or will the winds continue and cause a cancellation or postponement?

Hopefully my back will allow me out again soon for a closer inspection of the slopes and some more photos, not to mention the new powder accumulating right at this moment.
