Back To Square One
I thought long and hard about whether to post a report this week and you are now looking at my decision.
For those of you who have been looking at the snow cams it's not hard to see how badly things have deteriorated. It was a very quiet Uni Week and they are to be congratulated but they also have my sympathies for the most miserable winter week I can recall. Each day got worse than the one before. Grey, windy, drizzly and that was on the good patches of snow. I haven't even thought of going out since my mini tour last Saturday.
Last night was like being in category 2 cyclone or having the fire brigade turning their hoses on your windows. We had 56mm of rain between 1:00am and 8:30am and wind gusts in excess of 120km/h making sleep difficult.
The snow cover is back to season start level and so we start again tonight with a new cold front. The river is higher above its banks than the snow cover.
The only runs open are at Friday Flat - how this has been possible is beyond me.

The forecasters are split into 2 camps.
The Bureau predict "a few snow showers" & MountainWatch are predicting very little snow whilst Weatherzone and The Frog are sticking with big falls.
Looking at the Adelaide forecasts and the 540 line I'm totally with the big fall camp. We should know in 24 hours or so. Fingers crossed and more.
