And On It Goes ...

Oops - I slept in till 7:25 this morning. Rushed out to join the queue on Kosi chair that was not as long as expected. All the same I was a fair way back. Then came the news that de-icing would mean Kosi chair starting late. I quickly abandoned my so-so position in the queue, walked over to Snowgums chair and ended up on chair 4.

Kareela Face was sweet, then onto skiers' right of True Blue which was ungroomed and boot deep. There was just one skier in front of me. This turned out to be a blessing as he cut the first trail across the flats to Milk Run leaving me to cruise along in his tracks.

I went straight past a now huge queue waiting for Kosi chair to open and went back up Snowgums and into Bushranger. The untracked snow was soooo deep in there. I double ejected going off a 2m high mushroom and then again later in a bottomless hollow. If the snow had been lighter it would have rivalled the best day in Niseko but much of the deep snow was heavy work.

BunnyWalk has a good cover as has just about everything else. The groomers had a big night consolidating the past 3 days snow falls but even so there was a ton of ungroomed slopes.

Yes, it's still snowing and blowing. Visibility is very limited up high. The Basin hopefully opens tomorrow and what a treat the Rim should be :-)

KT claimed 70cm of fresh overnight making for a massive base up high. It's still a tad thin at the bottom but it's now groomable.

Spencers Creek - where snow depths determine the "average base depth" in official reports - jumped from 19cm to 102cm as of last Thursday and I wouldn't be surprised to see it around 2m (or may be even more) by next Thursday.

The roads are nasty - be very careful.

We still have limited accommodation for the weekend 11th of July and the week starting July 13th. Phone (02) 6457-6806 or 0412 553 011.
