If You Go Into The Woods Today ...
The weather has been spectacular since Monday. Just a little breeze, sub zero temps and bright sunshine in a mostly cloudless sky.
Had a great Monday morning with Traktorman and found some wonderfully soft snow down into BunnyWalk.
Everyone is loving the great cover and weather. Both the Basin and Sponars T-bars opened yesterday whilst today Antons was repaired and Karels was opened for the first time this season - more freshies :-)
Marion invited me to join her in her (and my) first Dead Horse Gap run for 2014. As expected the snow got heavier the lower we went. It was quite enjoyable except for the last drop where the shrubberies seem to have taken a leap upwards and some preceding riders who, from looking at their frantic tracks, had obviously had some difficulty and severely chewed up the otherwise pristine cover.

Karels T-bar opened today and provided me with several untracked runs
Others took advantage of conditions and went climbing out behind the resort

There be animals out here
And brumbies too

There's an amazing cover at DHG and it looked possible to ski a long way back
towards the village - not that I suggest trying it
Yes, there's still some accommodation left for 2014 but it's going fast - click on above link.
The forecasters have retracted some of their predictions for snow this weekend but still snow will fall :-)
Hey, it's only just July and the cover is what we would expect in August in a good year. Don't miss out - plan that trip now!
Any Grumps? I'm saving up and collecting interest ;-)
