No News Is Good News?
No news is good news, EXCEPT when it is about snowfalls. Although temperatures have been running sub zero (only just) the humidity level has prevented the snow makers from doing what everyone wants. There was a dusting overnight and probably will be again tonight but it hasn’t been enough to connect the dots on Merritts and below 1600m it has been that dreaded ‘R’ word – falling lightly for much of Sunday.
There isn't any skiing or boarding available, other than patch practising. We are all just sitting around and waiting for a severe drop in temperatures. Mind you, the locals are not panicking yet. It is still June and the early falls of the past few years were exceptional and then nothing much followed after those early falls. Many of us are putting our money on later falls which lead into a BIG season. I’m calling for a Spencer’s Creek maximum in excess of 2 metres. With any luck this will take the die-hards well into January out on the main range.

Rosco on Feb 22nd (4 months ago)
I can't wait to replace Rosco's images with some real Thredbo action! Oh, pass me another glass of red - we are ALL classified as "binge drinkers" now.
Instead of exercise, I’m spending all my spare time doing paper work and getting as much work out of the way as possible to enable me to spend as much time as possible on the slopes once we have “slopes”.
It is just a matter of time. As for “Global Warming” – well it is interesting that those who coined the phrase, no longer use it. Now it’s all about “climate change”. Guess what? The climate has been changing since the planet was formed and will continue to do so. Did you know we are less than 15,000 years from the next Ice Age? Who cares, none of us will be around to enjoy it.
