Thredbo and all that Jazz
The lead up to the 2005 Thredbo Jazz Festival had been hectic and initial forecasts of possible snow added to the excitement. As it eventuated we had perfect weather (alas no snow) for the entire weekend.
May be it was because of Mother’s Day but my feeling was that the crowd was down a little on last year. It was very well behaved and everyone seemed to be have a great time.
No more live music entertainment now until the snow season opening June long weekend.
The Kosciuszko Express is now closed for maintenance for a few weeks and the crew at Eagle’s Nest get a well-earned holiday. Snow Gums chair is in operation for tourist rides and access (for the fit) to the Kosciuszko walking path.
Apart from the few frosts last week, the weather has been generally warm, especially in the sun.
One of the frosty mornings in the village last week
My favourites – The Bogalusa Strutters
More Village Square action
'VB 6 pak' in the Kosi Room
'Viva the band' in the Community Centre
Music on the move
Village Square crowd outside Squatters Run enjoying both sun and music
The Jive Bombers & Errol Buddle
I think the musicians may have enjoyed the festival even more than us
When is winter coming? Temperatures were colder in Cooma and Canberra than Thredbo this morning. I guess we will get one of those cold ”snaps” before June. Thoughts of the North Western North American winter disaster occurring here should not be entertained.
PS: Thanks to all the sponsors of the Jazz Fest, especially Yalumba Wines.
