Winter Approaches

The bushfires in January severely curtailed the summer holidays in Thredbo as well as many other alpine areas of southeastern Australia.

After the Blues Concert was cancelled the resort remained very quiet until Easter when crowds flocked back into the resort.

Following Easter the Jazz Concert again drew large crowds and with perfect weather the weekend was a great success.

The path of the bush fires is still very evident and although some of the flora has begun to re-green there are large tracks of 'black' on both sides of the valley to the north and south of the resort.

There is a rumour around town that a long range forecast predicts 1 metre of snow between May 20 and May 28. Hmmm? I did say rumour.
