Don't We Wish?
Peter has sent some snaps taken on Sunday of the last day of skiing and boarding in Rusutsu for the season. Wouldn't it be brilliant if the snow pack was this good at the end of the season in Thredbo and oh those crowds and queues ;-) Sure, off-piste would not be good but those groomers - wow.
And a last minute update (last 3 photos) from Peter shows what he found upon going for a walk yesterday. In a typical Thredbo scenario, Peter said it snowed as soon as the resort was closed.
Andrea strolling through the car park and then facing the empty slopes of Sunday skiing on the last day
So many untouched groomers, so much room for big Super G turns
The only lift queue to be found
No rush to find a seat in the Steamboat food hall for lunch
It looks like a ghost town
Hang on - there's some crowds over there
But then it was back to the private ski resort for the rest of the day
Last minute additions: If you walk out in the woods today, you're sure to get a surprise
What looks like comets crashing to earth
What Peter found whilst talking a stroll after a fresh snowfall
These are no small chunks of ice crashing from the mountain tops
and leaving craters over half a metre deep
Meanwhile back in Oz, the temperatures are still unseasonably warm in Sydney but just nice in Thredbo.
