First Snows For 2009

Yes, I’ve been away from the village and it has snowed. Over 30 cm has reportedly fallen on the upper slopes over the past few days and it is currently snowing heavily.

According to the KT web site, Kosi chair is closed but Snowgums will be open (weather permitting). The bureau is forecasting up to another 30cm in the next 24 hours.

Despite the flashing sign on the Princes Highway north of Bega saying "Chains required beyond Jindabyne", the road was clear last night all the way to Thredbo and the pass holders lane was open on the Alpine Way - good work NPWS.
