Marching Towards Winter

In a strange twist, we have had a couple of quite warm days - approaching our peak summer night temps, even though it has also been somewhat cloudy.

Preparations for winter are getting into swing. Trails are being mowed and annual repairs can be seen here and there.

When will the first snows fall? Going back over my past reports, an April snowfall or two is not uncommon but it's about time for another early start like in 2006.

I included the panoramic view of Lake Eucumbene with a question to those responsible: why is Eucumbene not full like Lake Jindabyne?

Although some fix-ups and changes-for-the-better have occurred over the past months to KT's relatively new web site I note, as I write this report, that the weather charts on KT's web site weather report page (the page with the inappropriate title of 'Mt Kosciuszko Weather Station') remains stuck on February 25th.

Bookmark this alternate weather chart page:
http://www.recentsnow.com/go.asp?r=Thredbo, which also shows graphs for Perisher, Cabramurra, Hotham, Falls Creek, Baw Baw & Buller so you can watch the approaching weather systems as they move over Victoria towards Thredbo.
