Drifting Towards Summer

Friday was a blue-bird day but with wind speeds higher than forecast, as Marion and I found out when we went out to have a few runs on Summer Drift. The snow was firmer than I had encountered in weeks but it softened the longer and lower we skied. The wind chill was way below zero and we remained fully rugged until back in the village.

Saturday was a similar day and I briefly considered going out to the hill until I heard the freight train of wind blowing outside. Today the sky soon became overcast and it was still very windy. Rain showers turned on and off during the afternoon and if the temperature keeps dropping we should get snow overnight :-)
