A Few Days On

Monday arrived and I was too busy to ski but I did have a quick trip up and back on the chair. It was a beautiful day on the range.

The forecast for Tuesday was "partly cloudy" and "light winds". The day dawned looking like Monday but by the time I reached the top of the chair around 9:20 there was a bank of dark cloud rolling in and the wind was up and coming from the South - so quite chilly. I boot packed out to the hill and found the snow much better than on Friday. Soft but not sticky - there wasn't much of the "white" stuff left and even what was there was almost as fast as the "brown".

Four runs later (around 2200 vertical steps up the hill) I had to return to work - exercise completed.

Today broke like the previous two mornings with a crystal clear blue sky. One look at the graphs showing wind up to 60 kph and temperature already at 8C I decided I wasn't going out.

The forecasts don't look conducive for touring for several days but considering how wrong they have been recently, I'll take it, like everything else, day by day.
