The Sun Is Out
That's an interesting saying "The Sun is out" because when we say "the light is out" we are left in the dark.
Anyway, enough of that. Rosco has sent some great photos of what Niseko can look like when the Sun is turned on ;-)
Yotei cloud and Makeari Forest
The off piste is getting a little chewed up
Zig Zag climbers in the back country
And the bottom of Jacksons
Any one who uses the Jacksons exit will recognise this spot
Freshies can be found if you know where to go on a sunny day
The fair-weather warriors climbing to the peak
Rosco looks down on the queue of fair-weather warriors
As I remember it was around 800 steps from lift to peak
many of those steps being quite step
Looking across to Yotei zan from the peak above Niseko
A montage of other snaps including what Rosco calls the 'double, double jumble'
The sun is also turned on in Thredbo but the forecast for the rest of the week is damp but refreshingly cool.
An Australia Day Grump: I know it's been a while but there's always something to grump about.
After a well organised Christmas holiday period of easy access to Thredbo, the NPWS seem to have lost the plot again. When I was out yesterday (Saturday) I saw only 1 toll booth open and no pass-holders lane open into Thredbo for the last week of school holidays and Australia Day long weekend. You should have seen the queue to enter the National Park yesterday morning.
May be NPWS don't think Australians want to climb Mt Kosciuszko for Australia Day? Do they care?
