Spring Time in Thredbo
I can't believe how fast this week has past by. My sister came to visit and the sun has been out and I've spent more time on the mountain than usual. I've a stack of photos and have been a little remiss in getting out a report earlier - but I've been eating well ;-)
Apart from some minor temperature inversions providing a little frost in the village, the temperature has remained above zero. The snow has generally been soft to wet and first runs have generally been best runs.
It's been a busy week and there have been some big events on - none of which I got to compete in - for reasons I won't go into here. There's been big air events, the fancy-dress Memorial Race all culminating in yesterday's One Hit Wonder above The Cruiser.
This morning (Thursday) there was that tinge of pink in the dawn sky and following yesterday's mare's tails all the indications are out there for a change in the weather. The wind has picked up and the forecasts are looking like a pack of cards caste to the wind.

Linda (being Marion) and Baz (a real case ;-) in the Memorial Race
Rocky being green, and the Nonis - off for refreshments
Yes we're all slipping into Spring mode - waiting for first chair
Yesterday (Wednesday) and the scene was set above The Cruiser
The combatants were towed to the top
And the aerial battle commenced for the One Hit Wonder
Mare's Tail yesterday afternoon over Thredbo's slopes
Crackenback - this morning (Thursday)

I'm not going to try and predict what will occur over the next 5 days. Forecasts are scattered all over the place. I hope it snows more than it rains. A good freeze would also help the slopes. There's still a good cover up high but the lower slopes know it's springtime. Already one lift has been closed on Friday Flat due to the shrinking cover.
