Yum
I took several photos yesterday thinking they would make a nice report then after what I took today I knew I would have to cull a lot of shots for this report.
It was cold yesterday -10C wind chill was about the warmest it got up top. The snow quality is excellent up high and the grooming has been up to scratch as well. Overnight snow making has been helping the lower slopes but they are not a match against the quality of the upper slopes.
Last evening we had a really heavy dump of dry snow but it didn't last for long. It left the village covered in white but the reported 10cms up top was very hard to find in the resort. The 5cm in the village was an adventurous claim and not one I support. I think 2cm is generous.
Interschools finals are on in Thredbo. Big crowds, blue sky, fresh snow - what a combination. True Blue was groomed but below Tower 10 it was thin and narrow and so I didn't do it twice but I did the upper slopes way more than twice. Outside the resort the snow was choice!
Marion and I had a scrumptious run to DHG, especially down in the trees. The final pitch wasn't much but everything else made my best run to DHG this season.
I'll let my photos do the talking:- Worth a Thousand Words
Some BIG jumps at Antons yesterday (Thursday) - build it and they will come ?
Yesterday evening's surprise snowfall
Meadows snow depth this morning (Friday)
Interschools in very un-interschools weather conditions
But there were other places to be :-)
Wonderful dry, fluffy, freshies on untracked slopes
It was beautiful out there under a cloudless blue sky
It just went on and on
Marion's long turns and my short swings
I'll let Marion have the final say
Weather permitting, I'm going back country again tomorrow - more photos - more fun ;-)
