Sunny Side Up

The slopes in and out of the resort were busy over the weekend. Put off by a very cloudy start to Saturday, I didn't get to do the touring I had intended.

And as for Monday - well I was awaken at 4am to the sound of horizontal rain on my windows. With the rain in the village and the 90+kph winds around 8am, I decided to pass on yet another day. Hey, I have paper work to do.

Now today started the way every fair-weather skier likes to see. Sub zero temperatures kept the snow dry up top and the lifts that were closed in yesterday's weather were open with some freshies to be had. Nothing deep but dry wind packed snow that was delightful to cruise around on. I enjoyed numerous runs from Karels and over the Rim Run before venturing a little further out for more untracked. After coffee I ran tail gunner for Marion and the girls to Dead Horse. Some tails too ;-) We had untracked slopes the whole way and the new snow that fell yesterday and last night made for one of those light and creamy runs that we like to remember DHG for.

Boarder-dude is in town after a long hiatus. He arrived yesterday afternoon (driving through the fresh snow over DHG) and he was quite chuffed that on his first day the weather was glorious and he too had an awesome run to DHG.

The forecast for tomorrow is pretty much a repeat of today, except there are now tracks to DHG ;-)
