Oh Yeah - Powder Day
Yes I know my last report was only a couple of days ago but things have improved and the report I was planning for tomorrow may not happen depending on the weather.
The snow depth has increased but there are still sketchy bits around and we could really do with another 30cm plus strong wind to get things up to pace.
The day started with a crystal clear blue sky, -7C wind temp and a wind chill somewhat below that. Despite yesterday's and last night's snow falls there wasn't as much new snow as I had expected. That said, we had freshies and my first 3 runs off Kosi chair were fantastic, managing to pick up untracked most of the way.
Today was by far the best day of the season so far!
What a surprise - first view of the mountain this morning
Waiting for first ride on Kosi Chair - note snow behind the village
Davo's favourite powder line
And what World Cup looked like after we punters had had a go :-)

Looking across The Basin towards Balls...
Looking up Karels T-bar (still without Ts)
Looking up Merritts Falls
Thredbo is a 'snow' resort once more
Shot taken at midday just before the change moved in
Happy Birthday Marion (surprise at Eagles Nest this morning)
Thanks to Sara and crew
Anton's opened this morning for the first time this season but there are still a lot of rocks to grab edges.
The Basin is due to open tomorrow (Saturday). That will be a hoot.
Happy birthday to Davo for yesterday and of course Marion's big one today.
Gary: we all hope you get well soon - we are thinking of you and Alison.
It is snowing lightly as I type this report. More freshies tomorrow? Certainly some crowds.
PS: Traktorman's favourite run (Sundance) is open.
