The Sun Shines Brightly In Thredbo

What a start to the school holidays: brisk nights, sunny days and a cool southerly breeze to prevent overheating. And then the added bonus of no crowds, good snow, good grooming and happy people.

A special treat for Thredbo today was the wedding ceremony of two of our favourite locals Ben & Alina who were married amongst a host of family and friends on the golf course. I assume proper preparations were put in place as there was no call of "fore" ;-)

At the same time another wedding was being performed at the chapel across the road. Springtime is big in Thredbo.

Last night was Frank Night and I was left wondering how many of the dark suited locals had slept in their Frank gear for today's big event.

Apart from last Tuesday's Ski Patrol (see previous report) there was also a 75th birthday party held for the Australian YHA at Thredbo's own YHA (special thanks to Nadia, Rosie & Jamie for putting on a great spread) and then yesterday was International Talk Like A Pirate Day - Arrr!

A big CONGRATULATIONS to you both. May your snow also be deep & dry and may your skis run straight.

Did you note how I withheld from any puns about the well groomed groom who is a snow groomer? Oops just couldn't help myself ;-)

It was great to catch up on many old friends, at the ceremony, who have not been in Thredbo for some time. Max, you're looking great.

And yes, I did ski gingerly for a short while this morning on the rock hoppers (again, see last report).

No grumping today as it was such a special day for Ben & Alina.
