You Are My Sunshine

Every day has been increasingly sunny since my last report. Initially it was really cold days and really cold nights. A lot of snow making has been taking place especially with overnight temperature inversions. And it's been quality snow making - none of that sticky stuff.

A little snow fell for Monday morning - a couple of centimetres. It helped the off piste a lot but once the fresh was scraped away then it was back to the underlying frozen layer.

This week has been a case of good and bad news: The grooming has been spectacular on those runs groomed but it appears attention has turned away from grooming some major runs in favour of the banked slalom course that is being built between Sponars and Conrod Straight.

The snow quality has been reflected in the air temperatures. With the last two days warming up and indeed with both exceeding Zero, there is a marked change in the snow crystal structure.

The forecasts have swung around and around and the weekend is looking to deteriorate. WeatherZone is the most optimistic with The Frog the most pessimistic about the subtle differences in the type of precipitation that is coming.

Having said that: Tomorrow is Kerry's birthday (Happy Birthday Kerry) and it always snows within two days of Kerry's birthday. So there you have it, we'll be back to awesome soon ;-)
Anyway, I've had enough sunshine for a few weeks.

Still dealing with just July 2014 - my grumps against the body corporate continue at:

The one that will be coming after this, is sure to raise some eyebrows.
