And We Wait
The miserable weather on Monday and Tuesday (although some snow did fall above Kareela) was followed by beautiful weather on both Wednesday and Thursday. Conditions remain fairly static although the little new snow together with high winds blowing snow in from the main range early in the week meant that Ski Patrol have officially opened The Bluff.
High Noon remains closed and Sponars is still not open but the grooming of Conrod Straight indicates that we may soon see it operational. Friday Flat and the lower Supertrail are holding up under snowmaking.
Kareela Hutte held its official Opening Party yesterday to a packed crowd, meanwhile the school holiday crowds have caused lift lines to occur mainly on the Cruiser quad, Basin T-bar and on both Friday Flat lifts.
Today's snow on Supertrail was a combination of ice patches, sugar piles, death cookies, some sticky man-made and frozen ruts. I don't know if the groomers were restricted in what they could do or whether it was race club starting at 7:00am that trashed the Supertrail but it wasn't as sweet as it has been.

The 'Plantations' offer the best snow - a sad state of affairs
There are several variations of forecasts for more snow this weekend. The more enthusiastic of these is for more than 20cm while the Bureau says to expect only snow showers above 1700m.
Just over one week of school holidays left whilst my rock hoppers continue to suffer.
