Skiing on Three Saturdays in a Row?
Only if I went extreme water skiing. At the time of writing this report we have received a monsoonal 164.8mm of rain since 7am Thursday morning. Sadly it hasn't done the snow pack (what's left of it) any good at all.
The barometer continues to drop but not the temperature. Hopefully tonight that will finally change. If the temp had been a mere 5C lower we might have received 1.5m of snow in Thredbo Village. I dream about it ;-)
I've given up at this stage in believing the forecasters as they turn around their predictions faster than a tornado twists through Ohio.
The official start to the winter snow season is next weekend. Hopefully we will have enough snow for some turns but even so, there is a raft of events on during the weekend. Lots of free music, fireworks and more.
A quick trip to see if the DHG bridge was still in place
Bogong Creek with waves breaking over the bridge
Bogong Creek below the bridge about to join the Thredbo River
The Thredbo River breaking its banks in Thredbo Village
The free BBQ looking very soggy
The snowmakers' pond rejoining the river
Thredbo River raging down Thredbo Valley
Waterfalls above High Noon (top of Gunbarrel chair in top right)
Ramshead waterfall between Cannonball and Swaggies
A good place to start 'Extreme water Skiing'?
Keep watching my Twitter and Weather Graphs for some good news.
Grump: We are still without any SBS TV. If I can't ski then I'm missing my TV.
Double Grump (I'm on a roll today :-) That one dollar per vote that the federal pollies were trying to sneak through parliament last week was an "extra" dollar. How much more are they already stealing from the taxpayers so they can impose there dead-boring TV advertisements of lies upon the same unsuspecting tax payers?
It's that old adage once more: we get who we vote for.
