Meanwhile the weather in Thredbo is perfect "summer weather". Sunny, breezy and cool. There is still a 10% chance of snow forecast above Thredbo for Friday night :-)
From my soap box ;-)
I applaud the announcement that the 2013 Federal election will be on Sept 14th. Like many others, I also think a fixed 3 year term would be a great thing removing a lot of the excrement generated by politicians, media and the like surmising about when the next election will be held.
I'm sure many of you have already decided where your next vote will go. For those who haven't, you now have to decide whether to place your trust in liars. In my opinion both Labor & Liberal-National parties are parties of liars. Looking at the promises made before the last Federal, NSW & QLD elections, the incumbent government parties shouldn't be trusted again. Don't get me wrong; I'm not suggesting you vote for the Greens.
I believe that if the thinking people of Australia made the point of voting for someone else at their next visit to the polling booth then just may be in the future we would hear the truth and nothing but the truth from those who think they should have the term "honourable" placed beside their name.
The "honourable member", what a joke. Prove it - earn it! Most don't deserve the title let alone the outrageous pay they take from those to whom they lie to. Telling untruths to gain an advantage is NOT acceptable behaviour in a civilised world. It is immoral and down-right disgusting behaviour.
If these deceitful political parties and individual politicians were running a business advertising similar lies they would be brought to account by the judicial system for misleading statements, breach of contract and sued for damages.
As for the naive media and their favourite electoral term: "two-party-preferred"; why can't they call it as it is: "two-dishonest-party-preferred"?
